President Muhammadu Buhari today, 24th January 2018, has sent a proposed New National minimum wage of N27,000 permitted by law to the National Assembly.
Ike Ekweremadu (Deputy President of the Senate), affirmed this when he read President Buhari’s letter before the Senate.
The letter additionally pointed out that progressing the bill on time would balance out the economy as Nigerian workers have been looking towards tackling the Labor crisis in the nation.
“Mr. Senate President, I trust if the bill is successfully passed into law, it would balance out the country’s economy and maintain a strategic distance from laborers’ strike. “
Recall also that the National Council of State, a collection of over a pioneer and recent leaders of Nigeria, endorsed the N27, 000 to be passed into law as the new minimum wage during their meeting at the statehouse on Tuesday, January 22nd.
